A motorcycle kit should contain compact supplies for cleaning, covering and bandaging minor injuries. This configuration includes examination gloves, cleansing wipes, several plaster shapes, wound closure strips, sterile gauze, elastic and cohesive bandages, medical tape, scissors, tweezers and an emergency blanket.

The case measures 16 × 12 × 6 cm and may fit some motorcycle under-seat compartments. Available storage space varies considerably between motorcycle models, so buyers should measure the compartment before ordering. It can also be carried inside panniers, a top box, tank bag or backpack.

The EVA exterior is water-resistant and helps protect the contents from light rain, splashes and dust during normal riding. The zippered case should not be submerged in water. Individually sealed medical components provide additional protection during storage.

Requirements vary by country and travel destination. Some countries require motorcyclists to carry suitable first aid supplies, while others only recommend them. Riders should check the current rules for every country on their route before departure. A general motorcycle kit should not be advertised as DIN 13167 compliant unless its contents and documentation have been specifically configured to that standard.

Inspect the kit after every use and before long-distance trips. Replace opened, missing, damaged or expired products, particularly alcohol pads, sterile dressings and gloves. The American Red Cross recommends reviewing first aid kits annually and following the expiration date printed on each component.
